Oh no…… hoping that there isn’t too much fire & water damage. Love Timberline Lodge.

We are excited to be celebrating our 100th anniversary here at Molalla Fire and wanted to share a little history from our beginnings.

An organized fire department was formed under Chief Masterton in 1924. Before this firefighting in Molalla had been limited to neighbors forming bucket brigades and in 1914 the city installed a fire hydrant system and purchased two hose carts for public use.

In 1925 the volunteer firemen started the 4th of July Roundup (now known as the Molalla Buckeroo) and the Firemen's Dance to raise money for the purchase of a firetruck and equipment. The volunteers took possession of their new firetruck in January of 1926. The Buckeroo eventually grew too large for the fire department to continue running and was turned over to a new rodeo association. The Firemen's dance continued into the 1990's.

100 years later and Molalla Fire still holds strong ties to our rodeo history as can be seen by the bull rider on our logo/patch and this photo proudly displayed in our lobby.

Molalla Fire continues to provide first aid booth coverage for the Buckeroo each year.

The mustache is what did it for him.

This last week, Local 1159 President Nate Hon and Vice Presidents Mark Oelschlager, Andrew Gordian and Mark Corless represented the 370 firefighters of the Professional Firefighters of Clackamas County at the @orfirefighters convention. We celebrated many victories over the last two years, memorialized two members (Karl Nisbet and Rick Wilcox) and got some work done for our membership locally and across the state. We look forward to accomplishing much more over the next two years. #iaff1159 ... See MoreSee Less
